Wedding feature
Dancing on the Clouds
A low cloud of dry ice across the floor for your first dance.
How it works
What actually happens on the night
A dry-ice machine is set at the edge of the dancefloor and run for the length of your first dance.
It stays low
The cloud sits at ankle height and rolls outwards across the floor rather than filling the room. Your faces stay clear in every photograph.
It clears quickly
The effect lasts through the dance and then disperses, so the floor is ready for guests to join you without waiting.
It photographs well
Dry ice reflects the dancefloor lighting, which is why it appears in so many first-dance photographs and videos.
Your venue must be told
Some smoke and heat detectors react to dry ice. The venue needs to know in advance so it can be checked and approved — this is the single most common reason the effect can't go ahead.
The effect sits low on the floor rather than filling the room, so it photographs well and clears quickly. Your venue needs to be told in advance, as some smoke detectors react to it.
Booking it
Added to your package, not sold separately
It is quoted alongside whichever wedding package you choose, once your venue has confirmed it is happy with dry ice.
Feature extras start from £100. Final pricing is confirmed once I know your venue, timings and requirements.
Pairs well with
The rest of the first-dance planning
The effect is one part of the moment. The song, its length and how the floor fills afterwards matter more.
Check the effect is possible at your venue
Tell me your date and venue and I’ll come back to you personally with availability and ideas.
